TP and SL orders
Last updated October 15, 2026
TP and SL orders sell part of your position for you when the price reaches a level you set. You describe the levels once, in an order preset, and attach them to a buy or to a position.
How orders run
Note:
Automatic execution is on: TMC watches the price and sells when one of your levels is reached. If the service ever pauses, your orders show Not active yet and nothing sells until it is back.
Set up your order presets once, and every buy can carry its levels.
Target, stop and trailing stop
| Level | It sells when | You set |
|---|---|---|
| Target (TP) | The price is this far above your entry | The distance and the share to sell |
| Stop loss (SL) | The price is this far below your entry | The distance and the share to sell |
| Trailing stop | The price falls this far from its highest point since your buy | The distance and the share to sell |
- An order preset holds up to four levels. You have three order presets.
- Each level sells a share of your position when it triggers.
- Sell slippage is how far the sell price may slip from the trigger before the order gives up. Any price tries a stop again instead of dropping it when it cannot fill within your slippage.
- Orders never expire unless you pick a time in Expires.
Attach orders to a buy
- Open your order presets from the settings line of the buy panel, and set the levels of each preset.
- In the buy panel, turn on the TP / SL row and pick the order preset it follows.
- Buy with 1-Click. Your next 1-Click buy of that coin also sets its TP and SL orders.
- Follow them in the Orders tab: Open for the orders waiting for their trigger, History for those that sold, failed, expired or were cancelled.
- Edit a trigger or cancel an order from its row, or cancel all the open orders of a coin at once.
From the chart
- Right-click the chart at a level and use the Orders group: Target here for a level above your entry, Stop here for a level below it.
- Each order shows as a line on the chart. Drag a line up or down to move its trigger, and the new level is saved when you let go.
- These lines attach to your position, so you need to buy the coin first.
Exits and limit buys
- Sell on migration sells your whole position the moment the coin leaves the bonding curve for its pool.
- Sell if dev sells sells your whole position if the wallet that created the coin sells any of it, but it only sees that sale while someone has the coin open on TMC.
- Both are switches in each order preset, next to the levels. They do not count in the four levels.
- A limit buy waits on your account for the market cap you choose, then buys the amount you set. Pick the Limit tab of the buy panel. It only buys, and it shows as a line on the chart that you can drag.
- Sell on migration runs like TP and SL. Sell if dev sells only reacts while someone has the coin open on TMC. A limit buy reads Not active yet until limit buys switch on.
Limits
- Automatic orders sell from your 1-Click wallet. An extension wallet cannot set them.
- A price alert only rings your bell. See Price alerts.
