Stay safe on TMC

Last updated · October 14, 2026

Nobody at TMC will ever ask for your seed phrase or your private key. Memecoins move fast and attract scammers. This page covers what to protect, how to check you are on the real TMC, and what to read before you buy.

Never share your seed phrase or key

  • Your seed phrase and your private keys are yours alone. TMC never asks for them, in the terminal, by e-mail, in a Desk, in a ticket, in a message or in a thread.
  • TMC staff and KOLs will never ask for your keys, your seed phrase or a transfer. Anyone who does is a scammer, whatever name or picture they use.
  • TMC never sees or stores your wallet's private key or your seed phrase. Your 1-Click wallet is secured by hardware-isolated signing infrastructure, so your wallet key never reaches TMC.
  • Sign-in codes are for the TMC sign-in screen only. Never read one out or paste it anywhere else.
  • Pits, threads and Desk chats are readable by others. Never paste a secret there, even to ask for help.
Note: ◎

If something asks for your seed phrase, your private key or a code, stop. It is not TMC. Report it.

Check you are on the real TMC

  • The terminal lives on tmc-terminal.com.
  • The home page, the docs and the legal pages live on trading-meme-coins.com.
  • Type the address yourself or use a bookmark. Do not trust a link in a direct message, an ad, a reply under a post or a pop-up.
  • Read the whole address before you sign in. A fake site changes one letter, adds a word, or uses another ending.
  • A site that asks you to connect your wallet or sign a message to claim a prize, verify your account or unlock something is a trap. Your TMC rewards are only claimed inside the terminal.

Fake apps and extensions exist too. The TMC for X extension is not on the Chrome Web Store yet, and its official link will be published on its docs page. Do not install anything called TMC from anywhere else, and remember that the real extension never asks for a code, a password or a secret phrase. See TMC for X.

Your 1-Click wallet and your session

  • Your 1-Click wallet is created when you first sign in with Google or an e-mail code. It signs without a pop-up, so any device where you are signed in can trade. Sign in only on devices you control.
  • A session on a device expires after 30 days, and you sign in again.
  • See the devices signed in to your account in Sessions, and sign out the ones you do not recognize, or all the others at once.
  • Sign-in and withdrawal alerts are managed in My Account, so you hear about a new sign-in or a withdrawal.
  • An extension wallet, such as Phantom or Solflare, is different: you approve every trade in the wallet itself, and TMC holds none of its keys.
  • The TMC for X extension only asks. Buying from X is off until you turn it on, it has a limit per buy and a limit per day that you set, and every buy is checked and signed on TMC with your session.

Lock your account

Locking pauses your 1-Click wallets, like a bank card. Lock your account from My Account, under Security.

Locked accountWhat happens
StopsTrading, copy buys, limit buys, Move SOL, withdrawals, Desk renewals.
Still worksYour TP / SL and other exit orders. What copies bought still follows the wallet's sells and its stop loss. Claims still work. Deposits.
Not coveredYour extension wallet, like Phantom.
CancelsA pending withdrawal address change. Your wallet may still accept withdrawals to that address until you remove it on the Withdrawal address page. A limit buy that hits its price while locked.
  • Locking takes a code sent to your e-mail, or a new sign-in with Google for an account that no code reaches. Unlocking takes a new one.
  • If you think someone has access to your account, lock it first, then sign out the other devices in Sessions.
  • Signing out devices does not stop your copies, limit buys or TP / SL, because they are not devices. Lock your account to stop the buying. Copies stop buying. What they bought still follows the wallet's sells and its stop loss. Your TP / SL keep running while locked. To cancel one now, use the code we email you, in Portfolio, Orders.
  • When you unlock, copies set up or changed in the 24 hours before the lock stay paused, and what they bought no longer sells with the wallet: resume the ones you set up, or sell by hand. Other copies buy again. To stop a copy while locked, press Stop on it and enter the code we email you.
  • When you unlock, limit buys set in the 24 hours before the lock are cancelled: set them again if they were yours. Older limit buys can still buy: check them in Portfolio, Orders, and cancel any that isn't yours. Cancelling a limit buy works while locked.
  • Stop everything, under Security, cancels all your orders, your stop losses too, and stops all your copies. It takes the code we email you, and you don't need to unlock.

Open Security.

Withdrawals go to one address

  • TMC only builds withdrawals to the one address you registered. Keep your email safe: anyone who gets a code from it can move your funds. Turn on 2-step verification for your email.
  • Changing that address takes 3 hours. The new address becomes active at the hour shown on screen, the old one keeps working meanwhile, and one click cancels the change.
  • You cannot change the address while your account is locked.
  • If you did not ask for a change, cancel it, lock your account and write to support.

Open the withdrawal address page.

Read the risk tiles before you buy

Token Info on every coin page shows risk signals as tiles. Green means the signal is under its risk line. Red means it crossed it. A dash means nothing was measured, so it has no color. Insiders is not measured on TMC. Bundlers and Snipers are measured once, when the coin is born, so a coin TMC did not see launch shows a dash.

TileTurns red whenWhat it tells you
Top 1015% of the supply or moreHow much the ten largest holders own.
Dev5% or moreHow much the creator still holds.
Snipers10% or moreHow much was bought in the 3 blocks after the launch block. At launch, not what they hold now.
Insiders5% or moreHow much is held by wallets tied to the creator. Not measured on TMC.
Bundlers10% or moreHow much was bought in the launch block, creator excluded. At launch, not what they hold now.
LP BurnedLess than half of the liquidity is burnedBurned liquidity can no longer be pulled out.
Dex PaidThe listing was not paid forWhether the listing on the market was paid for.

Holders and Pro Traders are counts and carry no risk color. A value exactly at a line is red.

Note: ◎

Colors are a guide, not a verdict. A green tile does not make a coin safe, and no signal catches everything.

The usual memecoin scams

  • Rug pull: the creator or insiders sell most of the supply, or pull the liquidity, and the price collapses. A high Dev, Top 10 or Insiders share, or liquidity that is not burned, are warning signs.
  • Honeypot: you can buy but cannot sell. No tile can promise to catch one. Start with an amount you can lose and check that you can sell before you size up.
  • Bundles and snipers: many wallets, often one person, buy in the first moments and sell into your buy. Read the Bundlers and Snipers tiles.
  • Fake KOLs and impersonators: copycat accounts that message you first, offer a private call or promise returns. A real trader or TMC never asks for your keys and never guarantees a gain. Check the handle, not the name.
  • Fake giveaways and airdrops: if you must connect your wallet or sign something to receive a prize, it is a trap.
  • Copycat tickers: many coins share the same ticker. Check the address of the coin, not only its name. The TMC for X extension never puts a Buy button on a ticker on its own for this reason.
  • Paid promotion: a coin pushed in a chat or a post may be owned by the person pushing it. A call is an opinion, never advice from TMC.
Note: ◎

Nobody can guarantee a gain. Most traders lose money on memecoins, so only trade what you can afford to lose.

Report a problem

  • A message, a thread, a comment or a ticket that looks like spam, a scam or abuse: use Report on it. TMC reads every report, and a ticket report goes to TMC, not to the Desk.
  • A private message from someone you do not follow arrives as a request. Block stops messages both ways, and Report sends the conversation to TMC.
  • Anything else, including a site or an app that pretends to be TMC: write to support from the Support page, or to pro.tmc.com@gmail.com.
